The third meeting in the Abkhaz theatre of the Incident and Response Mechanism (IPRM) was held in Gali on 11 August 2009. The Head of the EUMM Ambassador Haber attended the meeting, chaired by the United Nations.
Georgian Government, Abkhaz de facto authorities and Russian representatives discussed a range of substantive issues, including the movement of local people across the administrative boundary line and recent incidents.
There was a useful exchange of views, including a brief assessment of the general security situation. It was agreed that the next meeting will take place in Gali on 8 September.
