On 3 November in Gali, Georgian, Abkhaz, Russian and EUMM representatives attended the eighth Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism meeting conducted under the auspices of the UN.
The discussions focused on different aspects of freedom of movement between the Zugdidi and the Gali districts. It was clarified that civilians seeking medical assistance shall be allowed to cross the ABL without hindrance. Other issues discussed included security-related developments, including military exercises and recently reported incidents.
The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Gali on 17 November 2009.
