BRITISH DEFENCE MINISTER VISITS EUMM

On Monday 6 June the Minister for International Security Strategy from the British Ministry of Defence, Gerald Howarth MP, visited EUMM HQ as part of an official trip to Tbilisi. He was given a briefing about the work and role of the Mission, recent incidents, challenges, progress and future plans. He was interested in the security situation in the areas close to the Administrative Boundary Lines, especially in the light of recent developments and events, and the way the Mission interacted with other EU and international organizations on the ground. He was impressed by the way the operations of the Mission worked, especially the integration of different nationalities and skills into effective teams.
