Laurie Bristow, Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the UK’s Foreign Office in London, visits EUMM Field Office Mtskheta

On 16 June, Laurie Bristow, a senior official from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, whose responsibilities include Georgia, visited EUMM Field Office Mtskheta. He was accompanied by HM Ambassador Judith Gough and senior staff from EUMM HQ. Mr Bristow was given a briefing on the overall role and work of the Mission and the Field Office by the Field Office Chief, Mat Whatley. He also had an opportunity to discuss recent incidents, progress so far and the future challenges facing the Mission, as well as the overall situation in the region. Mr Bristow praised the work of the Mission and said it had played an important role in stabilizing the situation on the ground.
