On 10 July a delegation of representatives to the UN visited the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia. The Director of the General Assembly Secretariat of the UN, together with ambassadors from Burundi, Chile, Nigeria and Thailand were welcomed at the Mission Headquarters where they were familiarised with the overall situation in the conflict area, how EUMM contributes to stabilising the situation and the confidence building measures it is pursuing. The delegation then joined a patrol of EUMM Field Office Mtskheta to the South Ossetian Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) and visited a settlement for Internally Displaced persons.
