A group of high level US Embassy staff visited EUMM Field Office Gori on 27 July. Manfred Meyer, the Field Office Chief gave a detailed briefing about the general work of EUMM on the ground and the current security situation along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) to South Ossetia. He explained that monitors patrol day and night, seven days a week to ensure there is no return to hostilities and to report on any incidents. The group of five visitors from the US Embassy in Tbilisi joined a patrol to Dvani and were deeply impressed by the professional way it was conducted. First hand experience of the situation at the ABL was also highly appreciated.
