On 30 October Eirik Øwre Thorshaug, the Norwegian Deputy Minister of Defence and his delegation paid a visit to the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia. The visitors were welcomed by Ambassador Andrzej Tyszkiewicz, the Head of the Mission. The Norwegian delegation was briefed about the current security situation, the mandate, work and latest challenges of the Mission, particularly against the background of the recent political changes in Georgia. Mr Thorshaug expressed appreciation of the activities of EUMM on the ground and said that the high credibility of the Mission was of vital importance for the stability of the whole region.
