Head of Mission visits Georgian MoD

On 2 November, the Head of EUMM, Ambassador Tyszkiewicz had an introductory meeting with the Georgian Defence Minister, Irakli Alasania. The Head of Mission reiterated the close co-operation the Mission has had with the Defence Ministry since EUMM began operations in October 2008, and emphasised the importance of close co-operation in the future and the sharing of information to ensure transparency. The Minister said he fully supported the Head of Mission and made clear that the work of the Mission was much appreciated. He added that the Ministry would co-operate fully with EUMM and that the need for the sharing of information under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry and EUMM was well understood.
