On the occasion of International Human Rights Day on 10 December, EUMM Field Office Gori held a conference on Minority Rights. The conference took place at the Gori State University, and was well attended by NGO representatives and students. Representatives from the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association and the Office of the Public Defender as well as the Gori State University and EUMM gave well received presentations. During the conference the different aspects of minority rights in Georgia were discussed. Past and current challenges facing ethnic and religious minorities were addressed from legal, political and anthropological perspectives. The event was covered by the Georgian media.
