On 13 February the new Chief of EUMM Field Office Zugdidi, Gabriel von Horn, together with members of the Human Security Team met Edisher Toloraia the acting Mayor (Gamgebeli in Georgian) of Zugdidi. Mr von Horn introduced the Mission and how it concretely implements its mandate of stabilisation, normalisation, confidence building and providing objective information.
Mr Toloraia expressed his appreciation towards EUMM, the Field Office and the importance of monitoring activities in creating a more secure environment near the Administrative Boundary Line.
It was agreed that the Gamgebeli’s Office and EUMM would continue to share relevant information about livelihood issues of Internally Displaced Persons and socially vulnerable families.
