EUMM Field Office Gori has recently received a number of high level visits. On 11 March Charlotte Lundqvist and Ms. Nettelvik from the Swedish Embassy to Georgia; on 15 March, Eliska Zigova from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ivan Jestrab, Czech Ambassador to Georgia were received.
Hans Schneider, the Field Office Chief gave briefings about the general work of EUMM on the ground and the current security situation along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) to South Ossetia. He explained that monitors patrol day and night, seven days a week to ensure there is no return to hostilities and to report on any incidents to EU policy makers. The visitors joined patrols to the ABL and the Czech guests also gave interviews for the next EUMM radio programme.
