Today the EU Delegation and EUMM are hosting a journalism Masterclass within the framework of the EU Prize for Journalism.
Approximately 30 journalists from across Georgia participated in the class.
After a few opening remarks about the Prize, including the idea behind the EUMM Special Prize for Peace Journalism, the organizers gave the floor to three journalism professors.
In the morning, Dr. Paolo Magagnotti, President of the European Journalists Association, talked about the interconnection between journalists and policy makers, underlining the role of new media.
In the afternoon, participants will find out more about the work of EU correspondents thanks to a presentation by Chiara Spegni, who represents the Italian news agency ANSA in Brussels.
The class will conclude with some insights from Petko Georgiev, a Media and Communications Expert from Bulgaria, about his time spent as a journalist in times of transition.
The deadline to submit applications to the EU Prize for Journalism is 04 November.
