Violence against women and girls is a violation of human rights and it is one that can and should be prevented. On 10 December, on Human Rights Day, EUMM participated in the UN WOMEN organized Rugby match dedicated to ending violence against women and girls. Three volunteers from EUMM played alongside current and retired players from the Georgian National Rugby Team, which turned out to be an exciting match. The players wore UN HeForShe T-shirts during the game to show their solidarity with the worldwide movement to end violence against women and girls. EUMM’s own Wiliam Boyd won the Man of the Match Award and was presented with a trophy after the match.
