After the important agreement of an incident prevention mechanism in Geneva this week, the next stage will be to work out the arrangements to implement it. The mechanism envisages weekly meetings between all the sides including the international organizations, EUMM, UN and OSCE.
In the coming weeks there will be discussions between all the sides to work out the detailed arrangements for these meetings, the locations, the attendees, the agendas and the reporting arrangements.
The mechanism allows for regular contacts between the structures responsible for security and public order in the areas of tension and the relevant international organisations.
The agreed proposals are an important step in helping to bring about stability and security.
