Under the UN chairmanship, Russian and de facto Abkhaz authorities, as well as Georgian Government and the EUMM representatives attended the fifteenth IPRM meeting in Gali on Tuesday 13 April.
In a positive atmosphere, participants exchanged information on a range of issues including the need to facilitate the population’s freedom of movement across the Administrative Boundary Line and the activities of coastal guard boats in adjacent waters.
With a view to an explosive device found and defused near the village of Meore Otobaia in the Gali district, the need to cooperate to prevent further such incidents was emphasized. Participants also reiterated the importance of the hotline as an information sharing tool particularly in the event of incidents.
The next meeting will take place in Gali on 5 May 2010.
