Representatives of Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) visited Field Office Gori of the EU Monitoring Mission on 8 May. GPPAC is an umbrella organization based in the Netherlands for peace-building NGOs worldwide. More than 20 representatives from NGOs from Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa, as well as the International Center on Conflict Negotiation were briefed by Field Office Chief Manfred Meyer regarding EUMM mandate and mission activities in the region. Afterwards the guests met representatives from local civil society organizations active in the region that presented their achievements and challenges in the field of conflict prevention and confidence building between societies on both sides of the Administrative Boundary Line. The meeting was appreciated and well-received.
