On 10 June, a delegation of Italian lawmakers from the Senate Committee, responsible for EU Policy visited the EU Monitoring Mission Field Office in Mtskheta.
“The European Monitoring Mission in Georgia is important to Italy”, said Federica Favi, the Italian Ambassador to Georgia, who was escorting the visiting delegation. She added she was pleased that Italy had recently been able to increase the number of Italian monitors.
At the Field Office the Senators received a thorough briefing on EUMM activities, with the support of Italian mission members.
During their short visit to Georgia the Italian lawmakers were also in contact with local authorities, familiarizing themselves with different aspects of the country.
