On 6 November Ambassador Tyszkiewicz, the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission paid his first official visit to the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maia Panjikidze.
The Head of Mission expressed the hope that the close cooperation the Mission had had with the Ministry on conflict related issues would continue. The Minister thanked the Mission for its valuable presence and praised the work of the unarmed monitors that contributes to stability on the ground. Ms Panjikidze also underscored the importance of the Geneva International Discussions where the Head of EUMM impartially reports on the security situation in the areas adjacent to the Administrative Boundary Lines. The possibility of widening cooperation in the future was raised at the meeting.
