On 27 November Field Office Zugdidi of EUMM gave a presentation about the Mission and about the 16 Days of Activism - Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls.
An audience of 16-18 year old students and representatives of Atinati, a local NGO attended the interactive presentation. They were all interested in the topic and a lively discussion unfolded about what one can do when coming across cases of such violence. The boys and girls all said they saw themselves as equal, however raised their concerns about some old fashioned, deeply rooted opinions of gender inequalities. The students agreed that no provocation could justify any gender based violence.
The campaign leaflets and posters, displaying the Georgian domestic violence hotline were appreciated by the audience. At the end of the presentation the EUMM members were thanked for the activities of the Mission.
