EUMM’s Head of Mission, Toivo Klaar, and the Mission’s Gender Advisor, Stacy Ziebell, participated today in an information-sharing meeting hosted by UN Women with regard to the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism or IPRM.
Participants included representatives of the office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality (SMR), the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA) and civil society organisations.
EUMM’s Head of Mission presented information about the Mission’s mandate and activities and the essential role of the IPRM in order to build confidence between parties and address the concerns of conflict-affected communities in a pragmatic manner.
The meeting provided civil society representatives with the opportunity to voice their concerns regarding the conflict-affected population, with a particular focus on women and girls, to representatives of the SMR and MIA.
EUMM would welcome involving more women at IPRM meetings, including from EUMM.
