The EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) can confirm that there was no activation of the Hotline over allegations that shots were fired in or near Koda on Tuesday 5 November. The EUMM itself initiated the Hotline on 6 November to seek clarification when allegations emerged in statements and in the media.
The EUMM maintains a 24/7 presence at the Administrative Boundary Line and had a number of patrols in the vicinity of Koda village on the 5th of November.
No EUMM monitors have confirmed any shots being heard. Based on follow up enquiries by the Mission with local interlocutors and Georgian authorities, the Mission has no evidence confirming reports about shootings in the area.
