The Zugdidi Field Office of the European Union Monitoring Mission is hosting an event on Wednesday 10 December to mark the 60th Anniversary of the UN Declaration on Human Rights.
The event, organised jointly with the Zugdidi Independent University and with the Zugdidi based NGOs "Human Rights Centre" and "Human", will gather 150 university students.
The discussion, led by EUMM as well as by local human rights experts, will focus on the evolution of the defence of human rights. The Governor of Samegrelo Region, the Ombudsman representative in Zugdidi as well as the Zugdidi University Deputy Chancellor will attend the event.
A screening of the documentary film “Bridge over the Wadi” will follow the discussion.
Local media representatives are invited to attend the event which will take place on 10 December in Zugdidi Independent University, from 14.30 until 15.30.
