On 20th April 2016, the 65th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) took place in Ergneti. The meeting was co-facilitated by Kęstutis Jankauskas, the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM), and Ambassador Guenther Baechler, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus.
The overall security situation along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) was assessed as stable. Problems faced by residents living in the vicinity of the ABL were discussed, including the access to farmlands and to religious sites during the upcoming Easter period.
The co-facilitators took positive note of the effective use of the hotline mechanism and encouraged the continuation of this practice. Ways forward in connection with humanitarian cases were considered in a constructive manner.
The next IPRM meeting will take place on 16th May 2016.
