On 26 January, the Head of the EU Monitoring
Mission (EUMM) in Georgia, Mr. Erik Høeg, met with the Head of the State
Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), Major-General Vakhtang Gomelauri.
A range of topics were discussed, including the
security situation along the Administrative Boundary Lines and the terrorism
threat in the region.
Mr. Gomelauri emphasised the importance of the
EUMM presence on the ground from a security perspective. There was agreement
that the exchange of information and functional cooperation between the SSSG
and EUMM is very efficient. In this context, Mr. Høeg welcomed the continuing full
Georgian compliance with the Six Point Agreement and follow up technical
arrangements.
